Someone on Quora asked:
It’s often said that we shouldn’t “take it for granted”. But how do you know when you are? Be it a job, a relationship of any kind, or someone’s feelings?
This was my response:
It’s pretty simple. Everything is taken for granted unless we consciously appreciate having it. Most times we forget to be thankful for the simplest of things, such as a roof over our heads a job that pays for the bills which allow us to survive. When we forget these things or treat them like a grind, or even go as far as to complain, we take these things for granted. To fix that, emit a little gratitude and be thankful for what you have. Then you’ll be blessed with more.
